Blog On conference is a gathering of Bloggers, Influencers and brands orchestrated by Laura from Tired Mummy of Two and an awesome team of helpers.
The idea behind it, in short, is to help bloggers refine their skills with laser-focused sessions and to bring brands and bloggers together face to face.
This was the first ever blogging event I’ve attended and to say I was nervous is an understatement, I was crapping my self! And, as there seem to be little or no bloggers local to me, I was going it alone (well, Carl was designated driver and hotel buddy, he’s a good egg.)
Meet and Greet
Paladone where massively kind enough to host a pre-conference party the night before and despite being nervous and alone, I had an amazing time (check the linked video, ahem 37 seconds, it’s me!). So much effort was put in behind the scenes to ensure that no one was left alone which led me to meet some fabulous people that have fast become friends. Karen from That Lancashire Lass and Jane from Hodge Podge Days.
Blog On Conference Day
Breakfast and lunch were provided throughout the day with cake and drinks too.
Over the course of the conference, you could pick from 15 sessions to attend. Each one focused on a different aspect of blogging. I was a self-elected guinea pig for Confidence building with Lee Furness from Public Speaking Academy, which was scary but amazing, attended content planning with Grace Hall from Eats Amazing and Photo styling with Lucie Health from Capture by Lucy.
Blog On is host to some amazing brands that want to connect with bloggers. There are so many stands and demonstrations going on and amidst all that were Elves on stilts and The Grinch having a right good moan.
If that wasn’t enough of a fun-filled packed day. This year was the first for the Blog On Toy awards which was huge. At the end of the day, each toy entered was raffled off, raising £2300 for the Blogger community fund. Amazing!
I had such an awesome time and will definitely be attending again.
Bring a Suitcase
On an end note, bring a suitcase! Honestly, a big one. Not only are the brand stands generous with giveaways and gifts, the goody bag you receive at the end of the day is HUGE!
Have you started blogging but haven’t plucked up the courage yet to go to a conference? Blog On hold two every year, look out for ticket information for May ’18. Hopefully, I’ll see you there.
